One application. Eligible lenders, considered in sequence.

Ottri is a financing platform for roofing companies: one branded application that moves between participating lenders, so your team doesn’t have to.

Offer financing without paying a cut of every roof.

Roofing companies usually pay for customer financing in one of two ways. Ottri charges neither.

A fee on every financed job

Many lenders charge the contractor a percentage of each loan, often called a dealer fee. It usually rises with 0% promotions.

A subscription

Some financing platforms charge a monthly or yearly fee, whether or not a job funds.

Where a participating program allows

Can homeowners finance their share of an insurance roof?

Often, yes. Insurance usually covers part of a storm-damaged roof and leaves the rest to the homeowner: the deductible, depreciation held back on older roofs, and any upgrade. Where a participating program allows it, the homeowner can apply to pay that share over time through your branded application.

  • Texas, and Florida for its separate roof deductible, accept financing of the full deductible as proof it was paid.
  • Never waive, absorb or rebate a deductible. It’s illegal in Texas, Florida and several other states.
  • The policy and the insurer decide what’s covered. Ottri doesn’t handle claims.

What does a roof cost, and how much do homeowners finance?

Roofing is the largest home-improvement category in the U.S.: homeowners spent $93.5 billion on it in 2021–2023, and the median project cost $10,000. Big jobs are where borrowing shows up. Projects paid with contractor-arranged financing averaged $10,600, against $5,000 for projects paid from savings.

  • Programs across the Ottri network cover $1,000 to $750,000.
  • Asphalt roofing prices are up 47.7% since January 2020.
  • Each lender confirms the amount on your estimate.

Your brand, on the homeowner’s phone

When should a roofer bring up financing?

Early, and with every homeowner. Mention it on the appointment confirmation, at the inspection and with the estimate, so monthly options sit next to the price. Your rep sends the branded application by link, QR code or text, and the homeowner applies on their phone.

  • Offer the same application to everyone. Lending rules don’t allow steering by age, neighborhood or income source.
  • Keep one price for cash and financed customers.
  • In ads, say financing is available. Quoting a payment, rate or term triggers required disclosures.

When does a roofing company get paid on a financed job?

When the program’s conditions are met. Programs commonly require that the homeowner accepts an offer, signs the lender’s documents and confirms the work is complete. On eligible programs the lender then pays your business directly, so you’re not chasing the homeowner for payment.

  • Change orders update the amount in the same application.
  • Few lenders fund before work starts, so plan materials around funding.
  • In-home sales carry a federal three-business-day right to cancel.

How do roofing contractors offer financing to customers?

Roofing contractors offer financing by giving homeowners a way to apply with a lender at the estimate, then pay for the roof over time. With Ottri, your company sends one branded application by link, QR code or text, and participating lenders consider it in sequence. On eligible programs the lender pays your business directly. Ottri charges your business nothing, and each lender makes its own credit decision.

Does Ottri charge dealer fees, and what does financing cost my business?

Ottri charges your business nothing: no setup fee, no subscription and no demo required. Some lender programs carry their own costs, such as a promotional rate buydown, and those depend on the program you choose. Many single-lender programs charge contractors a percentage of each financed job, and some marketplaces charge a yearly subscription.

Does each lender in the sequence pull the homeowner's credit?

Whether a step uses a soft or hard inquiry depends on the lender, the product and the step, and the homeowner sees which before continuing. Each lender makes its own decision, and the application moves to the next eligible lender only when the one before it declines.

Can a homeowner finance their insurance deductible?

Where a participating program allows it, a homeowner can apply to pay their own share of an insurance job, including the deductible, over time. Texas law, and Florida law for its separate roof deductible, treat a financing arrangement that requires full payment of the deductible over time as proof it was paid. A contractor may never waive, absorb or rebate the deductible; at least 23 states have laws against it.

When does my company get paid on a financed roof?

The participating lender pays your business directly on eligible programs once the program's conditions are met. That is typically after the homeowner accepts the offer, signs the lender's documents and confirms the work is complete. Some lenders also ask for photos or a verification call. Your office sees each application's next step in Ottri.

Can a newer roofing company offer financing through Ottri?

Create your account and complete onboarding. Each lender reviews your business against its own requirements, and you can start sending applications as soon as your programs are active.

Why not just send customers to their bank or a HELOC?

Some homeowners will, and their bank may offer a good rate. But a bank loan or HELOC is a separate application outside your sale. Offering financing at the estimate keeps the decision in the conversation, and the homeowner can still compare. Your price should be the same either way.

What do I need to sign up?

Create your business account, then complete onboarding. Onboarding asks for your business details and EIN, your contractor license and insurance documents, a sample customer contract, owner identity verification and a business bank account for payouts. Each lender then reviews your business against its own requirements, and you can send applications once your programs are active.

Who approves the financing and sends the funds?

The participating lender approves the financing and sets the terms. On eligible programs the lender pays your business directly, so you are never chasing the homeowner for payment. Ottri Global LLC is a licensed loan broker, NMLS 2776988, and is not a lender.

What happens if no lender approves the homeowner?

The application continues to each eligible participating lender in turn, so one decline doesn’t end it. If none approves, you see that in your dashboard and can talk through other ways to pay with the homeowner, such as a smaller scope or their own bank. Applications are never sold as leads, whatever the outcome.
